Robin Williams: 9 Inspirational Movie Quotes from the Comedy Legend

This week the world is coming to terms with the loss of an all time great comedian, Robin Williams. Williams brought his zany humour to millions, which in turn brought us so much laughter and joy. Williams touched our hearts with an ability to connect with us on an emotional level. Films such as The Dead Poets Society and Patch Adams brought out inspirational and caring characters, while hilariously outrageous films such as Mrs Doubtfire and The Birdcage made us laugh with hysteria. Without going into the long list of films that Williams starred in, I’m sure we can all agree that his contributions to comedy will be missed.

Suffering from both alcohol and drug addictions during his lifetime, Robin Williams suffered from long term depression.  It’s sometimes difficult to understand why. For someone who shared so much joy and laughter with the world, it’s hard to imagine that he would be suffering with heartache and pain.

When a man like Robin Williams passes, it can be a bit of a shock. Although you don’t necessarily know him personally, you’ve probably grown up with a lot of his films. He may have had an influence on you. Regardless, it’s normal to feel a sense of loss. Robin Williams’ death is a result of an emotional pain that unfortunately he was not able to break through. We must respect his battle, knowing that he is now in a better place.

Robin Williams - Jack

Please, don’t worry so much. Because in the end, none of us have very long on this earth. Life is fleeting. Turning night into day… Make a wish and think of me. Make your life spectacular. – Jack

Patch Adams - Robin Williams

Our job is improving the quality of life, not just delaying death. – Patch Adams.
